The specialist international beekeeping organisation
Bees for Development Ethiopia was established as a locally-registered charity in 2012. Bees for Development Ethiopia's mission is to promote sustainable apiculture development that is well integrated with the environment, thereby contributing to resilient rural livelihoods.
The organisation is headed-up by our long term colleague and partner Mr Tilahun Gebey who is ably supported by a great team of committed staff and a dedicated Board of Trustees.
BfDE delivers impact at the local level, helping some of the poorest and most vulnerable members of its community to improve their lives through beekeeping. Tree planting, recovering degraded lands and protecting bee habitat bring a strong synergy between people's wellbeing and ecosystem restoration.
